Sleeping, Cars, and Cops

Well it didn't take long for me to finally become a REAL college student. I fell asleep in my first class today. In my defense, I worked the grave shift the night before and hadn't slept and my teacher was showing us how to use Canvas which I already knew how to do. And I woke up whenever he switched back to taking notes. So really, I didn't miss anything. I'm sure the people sitting behind me had a good laugh cause I kept nodding off and I haven't quite mastered the discreteness of sleeping in class. But I've made it my goal to not miss any classes this semester unless it's for a really good reason like a death or something so I needed to be in class even if I was dozing off. I'm also going to strive to get a 4.0. It shouldn't be that difficult seeing that I'm only taking 8 credits. I was taking 12 but I had to drop my Spanish class. I mean lets face it, I don't know how to speak Spanish and I'm probably not going to learn it by taking a college class. So rather than stressing over doing 4 hours of Spanish homework EVERYDAY for the next semester, I figured I would drop the class so I can focus on my other classes. I already feel great about it!

This week was pretty adventurous to say the least. I already shared in my last post about the nightmares of my car not starting. After I got off work I went to go start my car and alas, it didn't start again. I called my friend Brooke and she saved the day. She had jumper cables so she came to jump my car. We found out that neither of us really knew how to jump start a car. Thankfully guests at the hotel are sometimes nice and they helped me jump it. It started and I took the car to O'reily Auto Parts to have them test the battery. Brooke took me home while we waited for an hour to have them tell me it was a bad battery and I needed a new one. She then drove me back to buy the battery. I owe that girl big time for helping me out so much with that stupid car. My car works just fine now! Knock on wood!

Next for my adventurous week, Brooke's roommate Melanie had a birthday this week. Technically her birthday is Saturday, but Brooke and her roommates threw her a birthday party earlier in the week so they could all celebrate together. We had some yummy cake and Aggie ice cream and had a good time. Then we decided to have a dance party. They have some awesome speakers with a subwoofer so we blared the music. Seems logical right? Dance party=loud music. Well we didn't really take into consideration that it was a school night. So we are dancing for a good 2 hours just having a blast when Brooke hears the doorbell ring (I still don't know how she heard the dainty doorbell over our blared music). It was the girls who live ACROSS THE PARKING LOT! Our music was so loud they could hear us from across the parking lot!! They were really rude about it and we were really nice so it was pretty entertaining. We thought we were done with everything cause we had turned the music off at 10:00. The noise rule in Logan isn't even applicable until 10:30 anyway. Come like 10:20 Brooke's neighbor walks in (he's the assistant manager of the complex) and says that we had a noise complaint. We said we had taken care of it already. But then a cop was behind him! Some loser had the called the cops on us! Really? If you have a problem with our loudness, come and tell us! Don't call the cops BEFORE they can legally do anything about it. The copper was really nice and we offered him some cake and ice cream cause turns out it was his birthday too. We didn't get in trouble or anything but it was still pretty funny. I sent the cop off with "It's your 30th birthday right?" (He was clearly in his 50's. All in all it was a pretty hilarious night! If you want to see a little peek of our dancing https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=592170455&sk=photos here ya go!

So there's the last few days in a nutshell! :)

Random Thoughts and Resolutions

Well, this time I only went 4 months instead of 5! Progress! I realized after writing a really really long letter to Spencer that I need to blog again. I have so much going on in my life and I feel like I need to share it with someone! And Spencer is the person that I have always shared everything with. But he's on a mission and doesn't need to hear about EVERYTHING going on in my life. So. No more novel letters and back to blogging!

What's going on in my life? For starters, I just started school again for the first time in a year. What caused me to do such a thing? Let's be honest, I miss flying for free! Because my mom works for Skywest I have always been able to fly for free. That was until I turned 19. After that I had to be going to school full time. As most of you know, School and I don't get along very well. Actually, we hate each other. But I decided to put our differences aside so I can travel the world.

I'm still living on my own in Logan and working at the Holiday Inn. And boy what an adventure this has been! I've met so many new people and I feel like I've lived here for years even though it's only been a few months. I've learned how to play poker (my mom gives me crap about it daily!) which I thought I would never do. But it's so fun! Don't worry, I'm not addicted or anything, it's just a fun card game. I've baked like there's no tomorrow, and I've learned that life is anything but cheap. One thing that I haven't done a whole lot of is dating. For some reason, guys don't like me. Guys are always complaining cause they are stuck in the "friend zone", but it goes both ways! All guys are just friends with me. It's not a bad thing. But it would be nice to get asked out on a few dates here and there.

I've learned that cars...are NOT cheap. You think you've bought an awesome car for a good price. You take good care of it like getting the oil changed when you're supposed to and putting the good gas in it instead the cheap crap. You think you're golden. Until one day it just decides to not work for you! This happened to me yesterday. Everything was awesome until I tried to go to work and my car wouldn't start! It was teasing me. It tried to start and then just wouldn't. It was not very nice. My friend let me borrow her car (I felt terrible for calling her at 7 in the morning waking her up) and I made it to work. I cleaned off all of corrosion on the battery hoping that would fix it. Still nothing. So my friend charged it for about an hour with his battery charger. It finally started! So I let it sit for a bit and tried it again. Started again! I thought I was done! Nope! So I get out of class today and I was gonna be a few minutes early for work. Awesome! Until my car decides to not start again! I was so frustrated. I called my manager to let her know that I was going to be late but that I was trying. She was so sweet about it and sent one of the housekeepers to help me push it out of the parking spot so I could jump it. It finally started! I still have yet to figure out what's completely wrong with it. I'm taking it in to get the battery looked at after work. Let's cross our fingers that it's a repair under $300.

To end this boring blog post, I'm going to share my New Year's resolutions. I haven't really written them down yet so I guess this is my way of getting them written down instead of just keeping them in my head.

First, I'm going to become more financially stable this year. I know it's super cliche, but it's something that I really need to do. I'm going to keep my receipts and get out of as much debt that I possibly can. I can't stress about living paycheck to paycheck and still barely making it. My parents are helping me out by paying my insurance and phone bill (another perk of going to school). And in the summer I'm going to move to Willard to live with some family friends so I can not pay rent for a few months. Hopefully this will get me more stable so that I can spend more on Black Friday this year!

Second, I'm going to actually pay my tithing every month. I have always payed my tithing. Until I moved to Logan. I kept meaning to but I never got around to it and then I was hurting for money so bad that I just didn't pay it. But I realized that's why I was hurting for money. I know I should pay it right after I get paid every paycheck, but I'm going to pay it at the end of the month in one monthly payment. I'm hoping this will help me become more financially stable and become closer to my Heavenly Father.

Third, I'm going to read the Book of Mormon and bare my testimony on it. I haven't born my testimony in years. It's kind of bad, but I just feel like I haven't been as close to my Heavenly Father as I know I can be. I've also never actually read the Book of Mormon so I've never been able to stand on the pulpit and say "I know the Book of Mormon is true." I want to be able to say that! So that's my goal. Hopefully it will help me build up the courage to bare my testimony more than once this year, but I'm trying to be realistic about my resolutions. So I'm only guaranteeing that I will bare my testimony once.

Well, this is my long and overdue blog post. Hopefully I will be back more with more boring posts about my life. But hey, I'm not making you read this! So it's your choice if you come back or not! :)

Cupcakes, cookies and MORE cupcakes!

So I realize that it has been 5 months since my last blog. And I got to the point where I was about to delete my blog since I never use it. But since I've been reading other people's blogs, It's got me excited about blogging again. So my first blog is going to be about my new obsession in life...cupcakes!!

I've always liked to bake. I've never really been adventurous with my baking, but I've always found joy in it. I would usually bake the same 3 things: Betty Crocker/Pillsbury cake mixes with packaged frosting, my mom's infamous oatmeal chocolate chip cookies that she got off the back of an oatmeal box, and crazy cake (a family recipe taken from a relief society cook book. It's called crazy cake cause there are no milk or eggs in the recipe.) I made these things cause I knew I was good at it and that people would enjoy them. But now that I live on my own and I have no life besides work , it kind of gets boring to make the same old thing. So I have decided to take a little bit of a risk and try new recipes.

Trying new recipes has actually been really fun! I didn't realize how many different ones were out there! I tried a new peanut butter cookie recipe that was delicious, but the most interesting adventures have been my cupcakes. The first cupcake I tried was a snickerdoodle cupcake. Now I'm not a big fan of snickerdoodle cookies in the first place, but for some reason in a cupcake, it just sounded delicious. This one turned out really great! The frosting was a meringue frosting topped with cinnamon and sugar to add to the cinnamon sugary deliciousness of the cupcake itself. The boys who live above me seemed to enjoy them!

The second cupcake I tried was a made from scratch chocolate cupcake with strawberry frosting. I really only tried this one because of the frosting. I just decided to attempt the cupcake since the only chocolate cupcakes I had previously made were Betty Crocker/Pillsbury ones. These ones epically failed. I don't know if I missed an ingredient or if I baked them too long or what happened, but they were definitely not edible. The frosting however was delicious! Next time I am going to make boxed mix cupcakes and use that frosting cause it was definitely too good to be true. Don't believe me on my cupcakes failing? See for yourself....

The third cupcake I tried has been my favorite recipe so far. It's called a chocolate malt campfire delight cupcake. This one was a little bit scary going into because it is a marshmallow cream filled cupcake. I've never done a cream filled cupcake before. But it turned out really great! The frosting had malt in it so it tasted a little bit like a whopper. And the fun part was topping it with a whopper. It really did taste like I was sitting at a campfire eating smores. It was fun using the little cupcake plunger my mom bought me to take out the middle of the cupcakes where the cream goes. It was really quite delicious. And they even turned out pretty!!

I've really enjoyed trying all these new recipes and I'm excited to try some more! If you've made it this far in the post, then thanks for reading!! And hopefully I will start blogging a little bit more in the future :)

Work work work

Working is something that all of us have to do at some point. We need money to buy things and we get money by working. Recently I was faced with the decision of working somewhere where I make more money, or somewhere that I love working. I started working at Costco in October of last year.

Here are some of the things I love about

~You start making $11 an hour.
~You get raises really fast
~When you work Sundays, you get paid time and a half
~The managers treat their employees great
~Everyone who works there is so nice
~You can wear jeans to work
~You get a free Costco card
~Everyone shops at Costco so you see everyone!

All of these things are great about Costco. That's why it was so hard to leave making $11 an hour to making $9.50 an hour at Hilton Garden Inn. But here's what I love about

~I get to dress up for work
~I can go to work and leave work in the same physical condition (I don't come home sweaty)
~I actually get appreciated when I do something right
~I get to meet random people and actually get to know them
~I can get cheap hotel rooms
~I can get 24 hours by working 3 shifts instead of 24 hours by working 6 shifts
~I work with the same people so I have better friendships with them

So...What would you do? Work for the place where you get paid the most, or work for the place you love working??

Why Do You Blog?

When I first started my blog a couple months ago my sister asked me, "Why do you want to make a blog?" At first I thought the question was really stupid. Why did I need a reason to blog? Don't you just make a blog to make a blog? The last week or so I haven't really posted anything to my blog because I haven't really had anything to blog about. So it got me thinking, why DO I blog? According to dictionary.com, a blog is- a website containing the writer's or group of writer's experiences, observations, opinions, etc., and often having images and links to other websites. So is this why I and others blog? To share our experiences, observations, and opinions. So I asked some of my close friends and "followers" why they blog. Here are the responses I got.

Shelbi Post:
"Because I like to make cute designs and stuff! And I can talk about anything I want!"

Berkley Sumner:
"I honestly don't know sometimes. I like to put my thoughts out there, sometimes having feedback from others is nice depending on what I am blogging about. Kind of lets me think out my life a bit, many reasons I guess. And when something exciting happens it allows you to explain more than you could over facebook."

Courtney Chalmers:
"I blog so that I can pour my feelings into something that is just for me."

Kiri Reisner:
"Why did I start blogging, or why do I blog now? I started blogging because Alexa Call and Kenzie Morgan thought I would have a good one. I continued to blog, because I loved having a place to write my feelings, and have them be heard. And I blog still, because I think sometimes, because I help people. And that's pretty cool. But recently, I don't think I have been a very good blogger, so I have lost all of the above coolness. Blah. But in time, I'll enjoy it again."

Jess Segeberg:
"It started out cause I had a lot of friends and family saying they wanted to stay in touch, but there were so many I couldn't keep track of them all. So I put everything in one place where everyone could find it. Now it's just a hobby/journal type thing."

Amy Nicholls:
"I blog because it's an amazing way to release anything that's on your mind and it's SO fun! :) I quite enjoy it."

So why do I blog? Well, my friends couldn't have said it better themselves. It's a great place to share feelings and be heard. It's really fun, and sometimes addicting. Blogging is like writing in a journal, just allowing the public to read it. And it's a fabulous way to think about what's really going on in my life. I've found my boundary of the kinds of things I share with others and the things I keep to myself, because the things that aren't on my blog are the things I like to keep to myself.

Think about it. Why do you blog? And if you don't blog, what's stopping you?

Change Ahead

So I haven't blogged in a while. I've had a lot on my mind. Caleb came home, which has been great!! I got to pause life for a few days while the family was down. But now I've had to press play, and I wish I could just push the fast forward button. I want to fast forward to a time in my life where everything is in place.

I have had to make so many choices and things have been changing like crazy. If there is anything I learned from Snow Canyon High School basketball it is that the game is not over until the final buzzer goes off. (Those who went to Snow Canyon know what I'm talking about) I've realized that things can change in a split second.

At the end of my senior year, I was set on going to Snow College. I knew where I wanted to live, I knew what I was going to major in, I had accepted a scholarship. I was set. But that changed. I ended up taking out a student loan for Dixie State College.

Fall semester I had no desire to go to school. I pretty much failed all my classes. This semester, I'm focused on school and actually enjoy going. At the beginning of this semester, I was signed up for 15 credits. I am now down to 9.

In May of 2010, I had never been employed a day of my life, but then I started working at Tuacahn which only lasted until December. In October of 2010, I got a job at Costco. That only lasted until December. In the middle of all this I was volunteering at Big Brothers Big Sisters in the office. In January 2011, I worked at Smith's for 3 weeks, but then got offered a job at The Hilton Garden Inn. After I accepted that job, Costco called me back to work part-time there. I've made an entire resume in less than a year.

A month ago I was set on moving to Mesa Arizona. I wanted to get out of St. George and live on my own. I knew how I was going to find a place to live and I started figuring things out financially. But due to the fact that my car keeps dying on me, I now have to buy a car of my own, which I will no longer be able to move to Mesa.

This post is really random, but it's because my mind is really scrambled. There are so many things that I just don't know the best decisions.

I don't like going to my home ward. I like being in the nursery and everything, but I lack the social life I could have if I went to a college ward. But I hate my college ward too. I know basically everyone in there from high school, and they are still stuck in high school. It makes going to church hard.

Basically, I'm just lost. I'm lost on which college ward to go to. I'm lost on whether to move out or not. I'm lost on where to move out to. I'm just lost.

There is so much change about to happen in my life and I don't know if I'm ready for it.

One More Week

I can't believe it. It's been two years. My brother Caleb has been out on his mission for two years and he comes home in ONE WEEK!!!

Before his mission, Caleb and I were never really close. He and my sister were always close growing up and they would leave me out of things. (I'm not feeling sorry for myself...it's just how it was) He didn't really like the idea of the 2 of us going to high school together for his senior year so he would avoid me. When he graduated and my sister moved out, we started to get really close. We would talk about random things and hang out around the house. We became really good friends. But this was only a couple of months before he left on his mission. Him leaving on his mission really hit me hard. We had just started getting close and now he was going to be in Mexico for 2 years. So I'm really excited for his return. I'm even taking Spanish in college so we can talk to each other behind my parent's back :)

So enough with the boring stuff...Here's the evolution of Dubby (Caleb)

He's really cute!!!

And he's kind of a dork...

But he knows how to clean up!!

And we can't WAIT to have him home!!!

So if you've made it this far in my post, and you want to come welcome him home, he comes home on February 16. He will be coming to the NEW St. George airport at 4:20 (closer to 4:30, but to be safe be there at 4:20) Bring signs, balloons, anything...but only if you want to!! :) He will also be speaking at the Pioneer Parkway Chapel on February 20 at 11:00 a.m.

Paige Me I'm On Call

Everyone has a story behind their name. Some are named after a close family member. Some are named because their mother's were on morphine when they were being named. (Caleb was named this way haha.) And some were named simply because their parents liked the name. I have a very interesting story behind my name.

I was named after my dad's pager.

My dad has been a nurse for 20 years and he absolutely loves it. No, he is not a doctor. And yes, he wears a white dress and hat....okay I'm kidding on that one. But anyway! When my parents started having kids they discussed names and my mom came up with the idea of naming a girl Paige McCall because every time my dad would leave the house he would say, "Page me. I'm on call!" So I am Paige McCall Fielding, short for Page Me I'm On Call. Some people think I'm making this up. But it's absolutely true. Some people think it's horrible that my parents would ACTUALLY tell me this, but I love it! It's unique, just like me.

So I encourage you to find out why you were named what you are. You may not have a story like mine, but nonetheless, you have a story. You will be surprised at what you find out!

I Am Who I Am

As most of my friends (and even random people throughout St. George) know, I LOVE footie pajamas. What better way to stay young than to cozy up in some adult size footie pajamas at the end of the night?

Throughout my life, I've always been worried about what other people think about me. I never wanted people to be mad at me and I never wanted to do anything stupid that would make someone chuckle about me with someone else. But why? What have I been afraid of?

A book that I'm reading in my Interpersonal Communications class has really got me thinking about why I am so worried about what other people think about me. The book is called "The Four Agreements" by Don Miguel Ruiz. (I highly recommend it). In his book he talks about four agreements that we should make with ourselves to be "free."

Be Impeccable With Your Word

Speak with integrity and say only what you mean. Avoid using the word to speak against yourself or gossip about others.

Don't Take Anything Personally
Nothing others do is because of you. What others say and do is a projection of their own reality, their own dream. When you are immune to the opinion and actions of others, you won't be the victim of needless suffering.

Don't Make Assumptions
Find the courage to ask questions and express what you really want. Communicate with others as clearly as you can to avoid misunderstandings, sadness, and drama.

Always Do Your Best
Your best is going to change from moment to moment; it will be different when you are healthy as opposed to sick. Under any circumstance, simply do your best, and you will avoid self-judgment, self-abuse, and regret.

Reading this book has made me notice some of the reasons why I have always been so worried about what others think about me. I am not always impeccable with my word. I sometimes say things about others when they aren't around, and I sometimes say negative things about myself. I take almost everything personally. I assume that other people think things of me when really they don't think those things at all. I don't always do my best. I sometimes give up because I'm bored and I just don't want to give it my all. All of these things play a part in why I am so worried about what others think.

So why did I mention the footie pajamas at the beginning? Well, I've only been reading this book for a week, but I've made it a goal to try and make the four agreements a part of my life. And already I've noticed a HUGE difference. I went over to my friend's house wearing a pair of my comfy footie pajamas. They are my twister ones to be exact. My friend has a 14 year old brother and his friends were over. I walked downstairs in my jammies and one of his friends gave me the funniest look like, "what the heck is that girl wearing?" Usually I would start making assumptions and start feeling stupid like "why did I wear these to my friends house?" But I didn't. I simply looked at him and thought to myself, "Don't take anything personally." And I didn't! And it felt great! I didn't care what he thought about me and I didn't care that as soon as I left they were going to laugh about me. It was a huge relief.

So try it. Be impeccable to your word. Don't take anything personally. Don't make assumptions. Always do your best.

Bedtime Routine

This post is going to be short, sweet, and to the point. It's just to share with the world about my interesting prayer with Norah (my niece) last night.

Her bedtime routine is really good and it makes her go to sleep with ease. We read 2 books, sing "I am a child of God" and "Families Can Be Together Forever", and then say a prayer. When she is sick we give her the medication and then start her bedtime routine.

Last night I needed to give her the medication, but I forgot about it until I had already done her bedtime routine. When I remembered and finally gave it to her, I tried laying her back down and she was fussy. I knew I would have to do the routine again. So we read the same 2 books, and sang the songs. I wasn't going to pray again because we had already prayed, but I knew I needed to because it was her routine.

Here's the interesting part...

In the prayer I was thanking Heavenly Father for everything and going through all of the family members, and I was wrapping up I was praying for Norah to sleep well. Well my exact wording was: "And please bless Norah that she may rest, and that she may rest in peace." HAHA!! As soon as I realized what I had just said my mind started going all over the place. I started to think about how do I reverse that. So I said, "and that she will wake up in the morning loving everyone like she always does."

I thought it was so funny! So I called my sister-in-law to tell her to make sure she was snoring as usual when she gets home. She woke up just fine this morning and ALIVE!! Haha!! It made me laugh and I hope it made whoever is reading this at least chuckle inside a little. :)

The Evolution of Friends

As I was going through all of the pictures I've been tagged in on facebook, I realized that I have had a lot of friends. Some of these friends I've been friends with since elementary, and some I've just barely met in college. Some friends I don't talk to anymore, and some I talk to everyday. It amazes me how much has changed in my short life and how much change is yet to come. So here is the evolution of friends.

Elementary Friends

These are the friends that I met in elementary school. I don't hang out with any of them, but I will always remember them. I will always remember Kyle Ottman hitting me in the face with the door in 5th grade. I will always remember obsessing over Scott Heinrich. I will always remember when me and Jessica Milton walked home from school everyday. I never see them, and rarely talk to them, but they will always be a part of my life.

Middle School Friends

These are the friends who I was inseparable with in middle school. Christina, Ariel, and Whitney. We ALWAYS had sleepovers and ate junk food together. We were all in the same ward and did everything together. I don't see these girls all the time, but I will never forget the awesome memories we made together. I still talk to them, and I love them all so much.

Church Friends
These are the friends who I met at church, but have become some of my best friends. They are like my sisters. We are all at different points in our lives, but we are still friends. We will always be there for each other. I don't know what I would do without these friends.

College Friends
It's been hard for me living at home going to school for several reasons. One of the biggest reasons is, I haven't been able to meet a whole lot of people that I haven't grown up with because I don't have roommates. But I've met some pretty amazing people in college that I hope to be friends with forever. These friends include Ashley Garrett, Andrea Marticorena, and Jess Segeberg. Meeting these friends has made college a little bit easier for me in the social aspect of college.

High School/College Friends
These are my friends that I met in high school, but have continued to stay friends with in college. Without these friends, I would go crazy. I have never met a group of people who can laugh as much as we do! We all have each others backs and love each other so much. We will all be in different places in our lives in a couple years, but we will always stay friends.

My Best Friends
This last set of friends are the most important people to me. They are my best friends. My family. These are the friends that I will always have. No matter what. Through thick and thin, we will always have each other. I love my family so much that words can't even explain it. Through all of my stages of friends, these friends have always stayed the same. I love them so and they have done so much for me.

I have so many pictures of friends that I wish I could put on here. But there is only so much room on a blog. I've missed a TON of friends, but I hope these friends know that I haven't forgotten about them, and I love them just as much as anyone on here.

So much to do...so little time

It amazes me how every day I find myself with tons of things to do.
I think I have everything done one day, and then I wake up the next day with hundreds of other things to do.

Take today for example.

I woke up at 11 (yes it's late, but I like my sleep) and immediately started cleaning. Not something I usually do, but my parents were out of town so I figured I would surprise them by actually cleaning the house. I cleaned the entire downstairs of my house. Which takes quite a bit of time. I had to be to work at 1:45 so on my way I checked the mail, deposited my check, and refilled my prescription. I felt SO accomplished.

But like always, the work is NEVER done.

  • The dishes I put in the dishwasher now have to be put away so I can reload the dishwasher.
  • My car still needs to be cleaned.
  • My laundry still needs to be put away.
  • I still have homework I need to get done.
  • And I'm going to have to start it all over again tomorrow
Sometimes I wish we could just pause life for a couple of hours so we can get everything done. And the saddest part is, I only have more to look forward to. It gets harder the older you get and the more responsibility you take on. So I'm going to enjoy all of the things that I don't have done yet because it's only going to get harder.

The Sunrise

I am NOT a morning person. I never have been, and I never will be.
So why on earth did I take an 8:00 a.m. class every morning this semester?
Cause I'm crazy, that's why.

The early morning class has its benefits though. What are they?
  • I don't have to drive around in circles for 10 minutes trying to find a parking spot
  • I'm done with all of my classes by 11:00 a.m. everyday
  • I have tons of time to do my homework in between school and work
  • I never understood why I never had any attractive men in my classes, but it's cause they all take classes in the morning!
But my favorite benefit of them all is the Sunrise.
I've never been awake for the sunrise before. But every morning, I drive into the sunrise and seeing how beautiful it is EVERY morning, makes my days just a little bit better.

A College Education

As we go through high school, we're always told that we need to go on and get a college education. But what exactly is a college education? Typically it's going to a state university to study a specific subject and get a degree for it. But I think it's much more than that.

Part of a college education is learning life lessons that you may not learn any other way than college. I did that last semester without fail. I was so excited that I was paying for my own school and I could go to class when I wanted, and I didn't have to go if I didn't want to. And my parents couldn't do a thing about it cause it was MY money. That came to bite me in the butt. I never did go to class and I never did study for any of my tests. I was paying thousands of dollars to not go to school. And I was miserable.

I may have gotten a 1.5 GPA, but I sure learned A LOT! I learned that I need to apply myself if I am going to get anything done. I learned that I actually DO need to go to class. But the most important thing that I learned is that I really do want to go college and get good grades.

So my homework's done, I've read the chapters I'm supposed to, and I actually understand what is going on in my classes. I've done more homework in one week then I did the entire fall semester. And I feel great.

I wouldn't change a thing. I learned from not going to class. My college education so far is learning that I do want to go to school and I do want to succeed.

A New Blogger

So...I'm new to this whole blogging thing. I've fought it for long enough. But I figured if I am going to blog stalk people, then they should be able to blog stalk me.(only if they want) I finally decided to make a blog because as I go throughout my day I make a note of all the interesting things that happen to me. For what though? I never share them with anyone. This is how I'm going to share them now. So don't judge,
just enjoy!
